Yukari Sakamoto

After studying philosophy at Sophia University, Yukari Sakamoto studied editing at the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts. She directed "Reborn" for "21st Century Girls," which was released in 2019. Later in 2019, her independent film "For Rei" was selected and screened in the 20th TAMA NEW WAVE Competition section, Osaka Asian Film Festival 2020 Indie Forum section, Osaka Asian Film Festival Online-Za, etc. In 2022, her short film produced at COVID-19 situation, "The Tree Is Calling" won the Art Renaissance Award at the Geidai Art Fest 2022. She is currently participating in the Feature Film Project and Script Development Support 2022, which is conducted by ndjc, a project commissioned by the Agency for Cultural Affairs to nurture young filmmakers.
